Charlotte de Witte is bringing an expanded version of her ‘The Resistance‘ audiovisual show to Belgium’s Rock Werchter festival this Friday, July 3rd — and she’s calling it something never done before.
The Belgian techno artist has been touring ‘The Resistance’ to strong reception across Europe, but her home country appearance is shaping up to be a different beast entirely. Attendees inside The Barn — Rock Werchter’s 20,000-capacity tent — will get what de Witte describes as an XXL version of the show, with preparations reportedly underway for three weeks ahead of the performance. She’s shared early footage from previous ‘The Resistance’ dates as a preview of what to expect.
The Visuals Behind ‘The Resistance’
The show’s immersive visual component was developed in collaboration with Johanna Jaskowska, a digital artist and creative technologist known for her work at the intersection of technology and visual culture. Jaskowska’s practice spans viral AR experiences, AI, CGI, and speculative digital worlds — a natural fit for a production that pushes the technical limits of a live techno set.

After Rock Werchter, ‘The Resistance’ tour continues through Les Ardentes, Bilbao BBK in Spain, V and B Festival and Pagaille Festival in France. The world premiere took place at [unvrs] Ibiza, followed by We Love Green in Paris and Sonar Festival.
The Rock Werchter show comes during a busy stretch for de Witte in 2026. Earlier this year she drew massive crowds to a street party in Genova, released her EP Amor, and dropped a deluxe version of her album. The XXL show at Rock Werchter on Friday looks set to be another significant moment in what’s already been a notable year for the artist.
