• Excellent use of vocals
• Hard-hitting kick
• The whole structure sounds so adrenalinic
“DANCE” suddenly got my attention with its explosive attitude. I rarely appreciate high-pitched vocals, which can easily become annoying. But especially in the new hyperpop wave, they are becoming very effective.
Today’s track, “DANCE”, makes great use of this feature. Released by NIGHTMODE and produced by TWERL, who has been ripping through the dance space with releases on Mad Decent, Deadbeats, Bassrush, Bitbird to name a few. Working with some of the heavy hitters in dance music, he has released multiple collaborations with Luude, Slumberjack, Josh Pan & more, as well as official remixes for Diplo & Lil Xan.
His design is explosive, a real concentration of different sounds. “DANCE” showcases the vocal we were talking about, then a layered texture with some Eurodance vibes in the intro. Loved the lead, that calmly sets up an emotional tone. The drop, then, is a real blast, with an hard-hitting kick that steers aways from Hardstyle’s brutality, but shows the same attitude. It’s just drier. And then, that vocal that keeps pushing and pushing.
What an adrenalinic experience. “DANCE” really filled me with energy, and that’s why I definitely recommend it.
