Almost two years after releasing his 2018 California EP, Diplo has dropped a new music video for his collaborative track with Trippie Redd, “Wish.” The Mad Decent head honcho originally debuted the track’s video in 2018. The feature-adorned California saw Diplo link with a number of artists including Redd, MØ, GoldLink, Lil Yachty, and more.
The alternate visual treatment encompasses a completely new creative vision, starting with a new setting—the original taking place in a mansion and the revamped version in a warehouse. The clip shows Redd “murdering” clones of himself using VFX before taking a morbid turn in which a stunt-gone-wrong accidentally kills the rapper, and a grisly sequence of actions unfolds.
Diplo recently revealed in an interview that he has unreleased work with several prolific rappers, notably Juice WRLD as well as Redd, 6ix9ine, and XXXTentacion.
