Seems like a lot happened over the break coincidently when most music media shut down meaning we’re playing catch up that includes this beastly double-tracker from enigmatic producer Burial.
The release, dubbed ‘Chemz/Dolphin’ is pure electrified hardcore goodness. We’re only privvy to “Chemz” with the b-side not due for release until April sometime but the lead track is succinctly described by Burial as;
‘Chemz’ is hooky, rushy and loved up – both an unhinged premonition of unleashed post-pandemic joy and a demonic flashback to past ecstasies in a hardcore style perfected in the UK. ‘Chemz’ is a 12 minute rave monster that has ingested several tracks and incorporated them into its distended body’
The EP actually follows even more new music in the form of a giant collaboration with Four Tet and Thom Yorke of Radiohead that dropped early December.
Expect to be hearing this in a trove of mixes coming through 2021 from all your favourites.
