Mark Knight’s Toolroom Academy: learn to produce from the best – Dancing Astronaut

Toolroom Records has bred house and techno connoisseurs alike since its 2003 foundation. Headed by UK-born DJ/producer Mark Knight, the label has launched booming careers for the likes Dombresky, Weiss, Danny Howard, and more—outside irs. In an effort to nurture more rising talent, Toolroom Academy recently announced some new production courses for beginners.

These courses are preceded by a number of opportunities for aspiring DJs and producers to jump start their careers, including sample packs, conferences to meet the staff, helpful editorial content, and even a DJ School based in the UK.

With 16 hours of video content, Q&A sessions, advice from Toolroom artist Ben Remember, and access to samples, students can start with a six-week crash course on the basics of Ableton Live. For those already familiar with the DAW, skipping to the second course is also an option, which is formulated as more of a masterclass and will help students bring their ideas to life. Ben Remember will be there every step of the way to breakdown his creative process.

Toolroom Academy students have gone on to sign with esteemed labels such as CR2, Toolroom Records, and many more, in addition to securing radio plays from Annie Mac and Danny Howard. Learn more about the courses here.
