It has been a minute since I heard Bass House this captivating. Niklas Long, hailing from Germany, just delivered a superlative bassline with his new track “Body Control”. It is dark, carries heavy acid Electro influences, and features a screeching vibe in the lead that really permeates the whole experience. This feels like a total surprise from him, especially since his past works were geared much more towards Progressive or Future House, just look at the beautiful “Bloom” for instance. But I am absolutely digging this darker side of his sound.
The track moves towards a Tech House imprint at first. The structure seems pretty linear in the beginning, but it gets much, much more energetic and bass-heavy once you get into the details. A peculiar vocal chop, which sounds Japanese to my ears, gets the dance started right before the Acid Bass immediately blasts off.
Honestly, it is gorgeous. The vibrations, the switches, the sudden changes – you can tell there is a lot of careful attention to detail here. “Body Control” really sounds in control, featuring a complex pattern of tools placed carefully on top of a simple idea, which is basically just a tech-y melody mixed with an Acid Bass.
The output is something with a ton of energy and pure catchiness. I truly had a super time listening to this Niklas Long banger. It shows he can switch lanes smoothly without losing his grip on great production. Keep up the good work!
