Sphere Entertainment, the company behind the innovative Las Vegas Sphere, is expanding its reach to the Middle East. The company has confirmed its plans to build a new Sphere venue in Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi Sphere will be very similar in scale to the Las Vegas venue, offering a capacity of 20,000. This is the first official confirmation of the brandâs expansion outside Nevada, after rumors of them bringing a rounded building to London, and the confirmation of a smaller sphere in Dubai which wonât belong to Sphere Entertainment.
The expansion into Abu Dhabi aligns with the growing interest in the Middle East and North Africa as a music market. The region has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by factors such as increased internet penetration and rising disposable income. âThe vision for Sphere has always included a global network of venues, and todayâs announcement is a significant milestone toward that goalâ, said James L. Dolan, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sphere Entertainment.
Sphere Entertainmentâs partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi will bring a new level of entertainment to the city. The companyâs expertise in technology and content creation will be instrumental in creating unforgettable experiences for visitors.
The new Sphere venue is expected to attract a wide range of audiences and contribute to Abu Dhabiâs reputation as a global entertainment destination.
