Tomorrowland Launches ZONE 5 Run & Rave Event in Antwerp

Joshua Princeton July 1, 2026 2 min read

Tomorrowland is officially expanding its footprint beyond the festival grounds, teaming up with the Lucky Stride Running Club to launch ZONE 5. This innovative new concept seamlessly blends the physical challenge of a social 5K run with the high-energy atmosphere of a daytime rave. The inaugural event is set to take place in Antwerp on Saturday, August 29, with organizers anticipating a turnout of approximately 3,000 participants.

The event structure is designed for accessibility and excitement. Runners will navigate a curated route through the streets of Antwerp before crossing the finish line directly into a custom-built arena. Once inside, the experience transitions into a two-hour, alcohol-free rave. The musical lineup features performances by Emilija b2b Alycia Bezgo and the iconic Dimitri Vegas. The schedule is tight and efficient, with doors opening at 9:00 am, the run commencing at 10:00 am, and the festivities concluding by 1:00 pm.

A New Era of Active Entertainment

While this is the first time the concept has been branded as ZONE 5 in Belgium, Tomorrowland has previously experimented with similar athletic-music hybrids. Past iterations have featured collaborations with industry heavyweights such as John Summit, Steve Aoki, and Armin van Buuren. By partnering with the Lucky Stride Running Club, Tomorrowland aims to tap into one of Europe’s fastest-growing running communities to ensure a high-quality course and a professional atmosphere.

The 5K is intentionally non-competitive, focusing on the collective experience rather than individual speed. Stijn De Rooster, Alderman for Sports for the City of Antwerp, highlighted the significance of this shift: “Sport is constantly evolving and reaching people in new ways. ZONE 5 shows that movement can be about much more than competition. It brings people together, promotes an active lifestyle and creates a unique atmosphere where sport, music and community reinforce one another.”

The Science Behind the Name

The name “ZONE 5” is derived from endurance training terminology, referring to the highest heart rate zone where intensity and adrenaline reach their peak. This concept serves as the thematic backbone of the event, mirroring the progression from the initial kilometer to the final, high-energy dance set. Looking ahead, Tomorrowland and Lucky Stride intend to use the Antwerp event as a pilot, with plans to scale the format to other major European cities.

Pre-registration is currently available at zone5.world. An exclusive pre-sale is scheduled for July 14 at €39, followed by a general sale on July 16 at €45.
