Whethan is back in full rager mode. The multi-platinum producer has dropped his remix of Waka Flocka Flame‘s ‘Rooster In My Rari,’ featuring BKTHERULA and Denzel Curry — and it’s exactly as chaotic as that lineup suggests.
The track arrives as part of Whethan’s WAREHOUSE.WAVS era, a deliberate return to the heavier bass and dubstep sound that first put him on the map. After years of genre-blending work with artists like Dua Lipa, Oliver Tree, Rico Nasty, and Yeat — plus production credits for Joji, Megan Thee Stallion, and The Chainsmokers — the Chicago-born producer has been steadily steering back toward his harder-edged roots.
That pivot started with the official release of ‘MssingNo XE3 (Whethan Turn),’ a track that originally sparked his career over a decade ago, and continued with WAREHOUSE.WAVS 2 on SoundCloud. The momentum has been real — sold-out headline shows across North America and a rapid uptick across his socials back that up.
Pulling in Denzel Curry and BKTHERULA for a Waka Flocka flip makes a lot of sense in that context. Curry’s been on a run of high-profile collaborations, and BKTHERULA brings an unpredictable energy that pairs well with Whethan’s current direction. The source material — Waka Flocka’s ‘Rooster In My Rari’ — was already built for maximum impact, so the remix doesn’t have to work too hard to hit.
On the live side, Whethan has already played EDC Las Vegas, Coachella, Ubbi Dubbi, and Forbidden Kingdom this year, with Lollapalooza, Electric Forest, Veld Music Festival, OfF Piknic, and Shambhala still ahead. A dedicated WAREHOUSE.WAVS Tour across the US is also in the works.
‘Rooster In My Rari‘ (Whethan Remix) is out now across all platforms.
