The Brooklyn Mirage is undergoing a massive reconstruction. The teasers and previews have been insane, to say the least. They tore down the whole old structure and are rebuilding from nothing. Over the last few weeks, NY ravers have been sharing personal updates on how construction is going. Simply walking by the venue will allow you to see where it stands. Sara Landry is scheduled to open the Mirage 3.0 this weekend, but some think it may not happen.
Brooklyn Mirage’s new CEO, Josh Wyatt, has stepped in to calm down concerns. Their mission is to bring New York a world-class experience like never before. Standing at 65 feet high, it will be the largest dance floor in the city. It is the largest prefabricated lumber structure ever built in New York. It will feature over 3,000 LED tiles and a 270-degree screen. Three mezzanines have been added, and they are not just for VIPs.
The new Mirage will feature the world’s first fully kinetic shutter system of this scale in a live music venue. When closed, it nods to the venue’s early days without LED screens; when open, it transforms into a hyper-realistic 270-degree virtual environment with 30K resolution and over 100 million pixels, surpassing visuals seen at major music festivals.
All New Yorkers are hoping the venue sparkles this weekend. We would love to see Mirage continue to stake its claim as the best venue in America. If all goes well, the Mirage will be taking its shot at the best dance venue in the world.
