A highly anticipated outdoor event from Solomun’s Diynamic label will no longer take place in Ibiza after organizers announced its cancellation following opposition from members of the local community.
Originally scheduled for July 11 at Cantera Can Coix near Sant Antoni, Diynamic Outdoor Ibiza was set to offer fans a unique open-air experience outside of the island’s traditional club circuit. However, organizers confirmed the event has been called off after what they described as an “unexpected public response.”
The decision comes as Ibiza continues to navigate growing conversations surrounding tourism, nightlife expansion, and the impact of large-scale events on local residents.
Organizers Put Community Concerns First
In a statement shared across social media, the Diynamic team said canceling the event was a difficult decision but one made out of respect for the local community. While organizers did not detail the specific concerns raised, local reports indicate residents expressed opposition to hosting a large outdoor electronic music event at the venue. Rather than moving forward amid the controversy, the label chose to withdraw the event entirely.
Ticket holders have been informed that refund information will be provided directly.
A Different Kind Of Ibiza Experience
Unlike Solomun’s long-running residency at Pacha Ibiza, Diynamic Outdoor was designed to offer something different—a one-day destination event set against the backdrop of Cantera Can Coix, a former quarry near Sant Antoni that has occasionally hosted special cultural events. The lineup was set to feature Solomun, Johannes Brecht (Live), Rafael Cerato, and Aladag, blending melodic house and techno in an intimate outdoor setting that reflected the label’s signature sound.
Ibiza Continues To Balance Tourism And Local Life
The cancellation arrives during a period of increasing discussion about the future of tourism on the island. While Ibiza remains one of the world’s premier destinations for electronic music, local governments and residents have become increasingly vocal about addressing issues such as overtourism, environmental preservation, traffic congestion, and noise. As Ibiza continues to evolve, promoters are finding themselves balancing world-class entertainment with the concerns of the communities that call the island home.
Solomun’s Summer Season Continues
Although the outdoor showcase has been canceled, Solomun’s Ibiza schedule remains otherwise unchanged. The Bosnian-German DJ and producer continues his celebrated residency at Pacha Ibiza, where he has become one of the island’s defining artists over the past decade. His residency remains one of the summer’s most sought-after events, regularly welcoming special guests from across the house and techno scene.
