Kygo is taking Palm Tree Crew beyond the festival stage with its latest major hospitality investment: the acquisition of a championship golf course in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley. This strategic move signals a significant evolution for the brand, which has already established itself as a powerhouse in music, artist management, and destination events.
The company, co-founded by Kygo and his longtime manager Myles Shear, has partnered with Major Food Group and investment firm 8K Capital to acquire River Valley Ranch Golf Course in Carbondale. The 187-acre property is situated roughly 30 miles from Aspen, nestled beneath the scenic backdrop of Mount Sopris.
A New Destination for Palm Tree Crew
River Valley Ranch is already a well-regarded destination in the region. Designed by Colorado Golf Hall of Fame member Jay Morrish, the public 18-hole course spans 7,328 yards and plays to a par of 72. While the property was reportedly listed for $24.5 million, the final purchase price remains undisclosed.
Rather than reinventing the course, the ownership group intends to enhance the existing infrastructure. Their vision involves integrating championship-level golf with high-end dining experiences operated by Major Food Group, alongside the signature Palm Tree Crew events and year-round social programming that fans have come to expect from the brand.
Expanding Beyond Music
This acquisition fits into a broader expansion strategy that Palm Tree Crew has pursued over the past several years. Originally built around music and artist management, the company successfully launched the Palm Tree Music Festival, which has expanded to locations including the Hamptons, Aspen, Napa Valley, and Hawaii. These events have effectively bridged the gap between electronic music, travel, and luxury hospitality.
River Valley Ranch offers the company a distinct advantage over traditional festival or nightclub models. It provides a permanent, year-round destination that supports live music while diversifying the brand’s portfolio. The move also strengthens the company’s presence near Aspen, a region where they have already cultivated a strong connection with the local travel and hospitality market.
As golf becomes increasingly intertwined with music, fashion, and lifestyle branding, this acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for Kygo and his business endeavors. For now, River Valley Ranch is expected to remain publicly accessible, and while the full scope of future development remains under wraps, the move underscores how Palm Tree Crew continues to evolve into a multifaceted lifestyle and hospitality entity.
