Trance icon Artem Stolyarov has returned to his beloved ALPHA 9 project, the progressive alter-ego of electronic music mainstay ARTY. Known for his immersive approach to world-building, Stolyarov continues to push the boundaries of the genre with his latest release, ‘Ascend.’ This track serves as a vibrant addition to his festival repertoire, blending high-energy production with the signature melodic sensibilities that fans have come to expect.
‘Ascend’ marks the second installment in a new, ongoing saga for the project. The song masterfully weaves together cosmic elements, layering driving basslines beneath intricate trance synths. A soft, ethereal vocal cuts through the arrangement, evoking the sensation of a deep-space voyager returning to Earth. This narrative depth is central to the ALPHA 9 identity, which centers on the story of a bio-engineered operative serving as a messenger for cosmic trance.
Released via Dreamstate USA, ‘Ascend’ follows the successful lead single ‘Dark Matter,’ which arrived in July and garnered significant support from industry heavyweights including Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Andrew Rayel, and AVIRA. Each release in this series is accompanied by a field note—a journal-style entry that chronicles the hero’s journey, further grounding the music in its overarching lore.
Stolyarov first debuted the track during his performance at EDC Las Vegas this past May.
