Bass producer Soltan has officially unveiled his latest project, the Desert Mystery EP. This six-track collection leans heavily into the sandy, mystical aesthetic that has become a hallmark of his production style over the years. By masterfully blending aggressive low-end weaponry with intricate Middle Eastern textures, Soltan continues to carve out a unique sonic niche that remains unmatched in the bass music scene.
The title track serves as an immediate introduction to the EP’s atmosphere. With whispered vocals drifting over the production like a heat haze, the track builds tension before erupting into a signature Soltan drop. It is a composition that feels both eerie and perfectly calibrated for the intensity of a festival mainstage.
The EP continues with ‘Pressure,’ a gritty collaboration featuring Dirt Monkey and HU$H, which delivers raw, high-impact energy. The project also includes the sharp, melodic ‘Tooran,’ the explosive two-minute heater ‘Gorz,’ and ‘No Game,’ a collaboration with PAV4N that bridges the gap between heavy bass and late-night club vibes. The EP concludes with ‘CMS,’ a dark, driving track that reinforces Soltan’s reputation for powerful, punchy bass design.
Reflecting on the creative process behind the EP, Soltan shared, “Desert Mystery started the day I put on the mask. For years, I’d been making music that pulled from two worlds: the melodies I grew up with and the heavy bass music that shaped me as a producer. But I never had a way to bring those worlds, and more styles of dance music, together in a way that felt fully honest. The mask changed that. It let me stop explaining and start showing. These six tracks are the sound of that transformation: vast and quiet one moment, overwhelming the next, like the desert itself, with some fun dancy rides along the way.”
