Apple Music Launches New ‘Club Mix’ and ‘Club Resident’ Series

Apple Music has officially expanded its commitment to dance and electronic music with the launch of two new flagship DJ mix series: Club Mix and Club Resident. These platforms are designed to further the streaming service's mission of archiving and presenting global DJ culture at scale, building upon the foundation laid by its existing DJ Mix program established in 2021.

Understanding the New Series

The two initiatives serve distinct purposes within the electronic music ecosystem. Club Mix focuses on one-off sets from artists who are currently shaping the landscape of contemporary club culture. In contrast, Club Resident provides a dedicated, recurring platform for select artists to deliver multiple installments over an extended period, allowing for deeper storytelling and artistic development.

Club Mix Debuts with Industry Leaders

The launch of Club Mix features four exclusive sets. horsegiirL leads the series with Club Mix 001. Additionally, the platform highlights sets recorded during Fête de la Musique, the renowned French cultural celebration. These contributions include performances from electroclash pioneer Miss Kittin, rising selector Paloma Le Friant, and the techno duo Anetha b2b Tatyana Jane.

These mixes are currently available for on-demand streaming for Apple Music subscribers. Furthermore, they will be broadcast on Apple Music Club Radio on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM PT, with specific air dates scheduled for late June.

Inaugural Club Residents

For the debut of the Club Resident series, Apple Music has selected The Martinez Brothers and Jazzy. The Martinez Brothers, known for their deep roots in the house music scene and their consistent presence in Ibiza, bring a wealth of experience to the residency. They are joined by Irish DJ, producer, and vocalist Jazzy, who has recently gained significant momentum following her collaboration with Calvin Harris.

“DJ mixes have always been one of the most important ways artists tell their stories and document a moment in culture,” said Stephen Campbell, Global Head of Dance, Electronic Music & DJ Mixes at Apple Music. “With Club Mix and Club Resident, we’re creating new platforms for artists to share defining creative statements while building a lasting archive of dance music culture.”

The residency schedule kicks off with The Martinez Brothers on June 24, followed by Jazzy on July 8, with additional installments planned throughout the summer season.
