Trance icon Armin van Buuren has officially announced the ASOT anthem for 2027 as an ID. During a 13-hour marathon broadcast of the 1300th episode of A State of Trance live from Amsterdam, the Dutch legend surprised millions of global listeners by debuting the official anthem for A State of Trance 2027.
The announcement comes as ASOT celebrates 25 years of dominating the electronic landscape. While ADE is renowned for its unreleased IDs and high-energy pop-up sets, van Buuren took advantage of the ADE special to give fans an exclusive first listen to the track that will define the brand’s identity in 2027. He had previously teased the track during his show in New York City and the previous night where he went back to back with Benwal at the famous Gashouder.
Over the last five years, ASOT anthems have shifted to match the evolving landscape of electronic music. Let’s take a look at the previous five anthems:
- 2026: ‘Always You‘ (ASOT 2026 Elevation Anthem) Armin van Buuren, Richard Durand, & Dicosis
- 2025: ‘Is It Beautiful?‘ (ASOT 2025 Transformation Anthem) Armin van Buuren & Ben Hemsley feat. Lucy Pullin
- 2024: ‘Destination‘ (ASOT 2024 Anthem) Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Rank 1, & Ruben de Ronde
- 2023: ‘Reflexion‘ (ASOT 2023 Anthem) Armin van Buuren & Cosmic Gate
- 2022: ‘Turn The World Into A Dancefloor‘ (ASOT 1000 Anthem) Armin van Buuren
Many people have commented that 2026 was a ‘comeback’ year for trance, as different influences entered the genre. In 2027, the possibilities are endless, and many people are excited for what’s to come, with the anthem track lyrics mentioning “into the unknown“.
