New Orleans is set to host its inaugural edition of Freaky Deaky, the celebrated Halloween-themed festival. Taking place from October 30-31 at the historic Mardi Gras World, the event promises two nights of high-energy electronic music, elaborate costumes, and haunted-house-style production in a city that famously treats Halloween as a second Mardi Gras.
The festival’s lineup is designed with broad appeal, featuring heavy hitters such as Porter Robinson (DJ Set), FISHER, Of The Trees, and Chris Lorenzo. These artists will perform across two distinct stages—The Shrine and The Crypt—showcasing a diverse range of house, techno, and bass music. Supporting acts include CID, William Black, Layla Benitez, and Distant Matter, alongside regional talents like Skilah, Stryfe, and Kyliente.

This expansion represents a homecoming of sorts for James “Disco Donnie” Estopinal Jr., the founder of Disco Presents. Having launched his career by organizing underground raves in New Orleans over three decades ago, Estopinal has since built a national promotion powerhouse. By partnering with local entities like Encore Entertainment, The Metropolitan, and Amps Events, he is bringing the Freaky Deaky brand back to its roots.
Set Times and Stage Breakdown
The festivities begin at 5 PM on Friday, October 30. The Shrine will feature performances from Know Good, Of The Trees, and a closing set by Porter Robinson. Meanwhile, The Crypt will host Xsomnia, Layla Benitez, and CID. Saturday’s schedule kicks off earlier at 3 PM, with The Shrine building momentum through sets by Stryfe and Skilah before concluding with Chris Lorenzo and a headlining performance by FISHER. The Crypt will feature a stacked lineup including Kyliente, DJ Taf, Distant Matter, and William Black.
Beyond the music, the venue itself will be transformed. Mardi Gras World, typically known for housing massive parade floats, will be reimagined into a full Halloween environment. Attendees can explore The Mansion, an indoor space featuring towering trees and an outdoor-indoors illusion, or visit the Sideways Illusion Room for gravity-defying photo opportunities. Additional attractions include a tarot reader and a Haunted Cinema located behind The Crypt stage, which will screen vintage B-movies between sets.

As the main stages conclude at 1 AM, the energy will shift to The Metropolitan for official afterparties, featuring Of The Trees on Friday and Chris Lorenzo on Saturday. Since its 2018 launch in Houston, Freaky Deaky has established itself as a premier Halloween festival brand, and this New Orleans debut marks its first major expansion into Louisiana.
