Joseph Capriati is back on his own imprint. The Italian techno and house figure has released ‘Control‘ via Metamorfosi Records, teaming up with fellow countryman GENNARO for the first time. It marks Capriati’s second collaborative release on the label he founded, and this one keeps things entirely Italian, pairing him with an artist who has been making his own noise in contemporary house.
The timing lines up with a significant moment for the label. The Metamorfosi residency at Amnesia is now in its fourth season, coinciding with the Ibiza club’s 50th anniversary. Capriati’s return to the venue that provided him with a platform early in his career has become a full-circle moment, both for Amnesia’s storied history and for the evolving landscape of Ibiza’s club culture.
GENNARO, hailing from Ischia, has built a reputation over the past couple of years for sharp, jazz-inflected deep house. His profile picked up significantly after a breakout release in 2024, one of that year’s more talked-about records, and he has maintained that momentum with output on a string of respected labels internationally.
‘Control’ brings the two production styles together on a groove-driven club track built around a rolling bassline, sax interludes, and a lead vocal hook that anchors the composition. There is plenty of movement in the arrangement, giving both artists room to work with rhythm and character rather than leaning on a straightforward drop structure. The track has reportedly been a fixture at Capriati’s Metamorfosi residency sets in Ibiza throughout the summer, building substantial buzz ahead of its official release.
Metamorfosi Records exists largely as an extension of Capriati’s own musical identity, so bringing in another rising Italian voice fits the label’s mission perfectly. GENNARO gets space to put his own stamp on the record, while Capriati’s influence still holds the track together at its core.
‘Control’ is out now on Metamorfosi Records under catalogue number MTMRF017, arriving with an extended mix and radio edit. Stream or order ‘Control’ here.
