Kygo is officially taking his signature tropical vibes from the festival main stage straight to the fairway. If you thought his lifestyle brand, Palm Tree Crew—co-founded with his manager Myles Shear—was just about sun-drenched beach parties and luxury apparel, think again. The brand is making a massive pivot into real estate and high-end hospitality, and their latest acquisition is nothing short of spectacular.
Palm Tree Crew has teamed up with the culinary heavyweights at Major Food Group and investment firm 8K Capital to officially purchase the River Valley Ranch golf course in Carbondale, Colorado.
A New Vision for Mountain Golf
Tucked away in the Crystal River Valley, about 30 miles from Aspen, River Valley Ranch is a sprawling 187-acre public course. Designed by Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Jay Morrish and framed by the massive, snow-capped Mount Sopris, it is widely considered one of the most stunning places to play a round in the state. While the exact final price remains undisclosed, the property was listed earlier this year for $24.5 million.
So, what happens when a global EDM superstar and a world-renowned restaurant group buy a mountain course? The goal is a total reimagining of the traditional country club experience. The new ownership group does not intend to shut out the local community; instead, they plan to maintain the top-tier golf layout while upgrading the surrounding amenities. They will be introducing Major Food Group’s high-end dining concepts and infusing the entire property with Palm Tree Crew’s signature mix of music, style, and laid-back energy.
“Together, our goal is to honor what has made the course so beloved while thoughtfully elevating the experience—combining world-class golf with Major Food Group’s signature hospitality and culinary expertise, Palm Tree Crew’s cultural and lifestyle platform, and 8K Capital’s long-term investment vision.” — Myles Shear, Co-Founder of Palm Tree Crew
The Palm Tree Crew Empire
This move marks a strategic expansion for the brand. Golf and the Aspen lifestyle have been baked into the DNA of Palm Tree Crew from the start. Between their annual Palm Tree Music Festival in Aspen and the star-studded celebrity golf tournaments they host globally, they have been bridging the gap between electronic music culture and country club aesthetics for years.
This announcement comes on the heels of their other major property venture: Palm Tree Residences, a 480-unit luxury condo tower in downtown Miami that will feature a rooftop beach club and live DJ sets. Whether you are a serious golfer or simply appreciate a mountain sunset paired with world-class dining and a melodic house soundtrack, Kygo and his team are clearly building a serious empire. We will be keeping a close eye on the project as the revamped course prepares to open its doors.
