ID 2 of the Spring Mixtape 2023 is finally out, and it is a fantastic collaboration between maestro Lane 8 and Grigoré, ‘Pipi Dormir‘. Daniel has released a string of nonstop collaborations and singles this year. 2023 has been probably the biggest year for his label This Never Happened with countless releases.

If you have been following EDMTunes for this year now you would be no stranger to following Daniel’s journey with us. He has released blockbuster singles ‘Woman‘, ‘La Niña‘ and ‘Rave‘. That is not it, he is currently on a nonstop bender, of collaborations. Hey we aren’t complaining, but truly enjoying the countless hits. But it does get me wondering, is the melodic king on way to surprise us with Cross Pollination 2, or something similar? ‘The Little Mushroom That Got Away‘ with Sultan & Shepard, or ‘I Will Leave A Light On‘ with Le Youth and now ‘Pipi Dormir‘ with Grigoré could be signs to something bigger? Lane 8 has kept true to his promise of producing a whole lot of music for his fans. He has been soaring to new heights this year and you can see his style of music evolving.

Grigoré is no stranger to the TNH label, his successful debut was with his Illusion EP in 2020. Ever since then the melodic house DJ’s presence has grown with his releases At The Edge of The World EP, It’s All Fiction and Nautilus EP. We have grooved to his remixes ‘Aura‘ ‘If Only (You Could Be Here)‘ and ‘Together’ to name a few. ‘Pipi Dormir’ is the first collaboration he has with Daniel. Lets dive deeper into this melodic track. He has spread his wings through music on labels such as Spectrum by Joris Voorn or Diynamic by Solomun.

Pipi Dormir

A collaboration we didn’t know we needed but now can’t imagine not having, gives birth to ‘Pipi Dormir’. The title is as funky as ‘The Little Mushroom That Got Away‘, a name that will stick with you. The melodic house has a balance of the Grigoré sound along with a new wave of Lane 8 we have been experiencing. The synths and base along with the deeper riffs in the track give this a trance vibe. This song is a full 6 minutes of bliss. Every Lane 8 track I have heard this year has made me appreciate how diverse he is. Grigoré compliments him so well and it is a melody I lose myself in, one I can’t wait to experience it live on the dancefloor.

As you all know Lane 8 has only been performing at select festivals and his summer gatherings this year. You are in luck you could see him at III Points this weekend in Miami. After that he will be playing a B2B set with Yotto that you shouldn’t miss for the world at Dreamstate this November. Stay tuned to EDMTunes for all your latest music news.
