Las Vegas Plans Reopening For June 4

The Las Vegas strip is whipping back into shape as it prepares to welcome visitors again.

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak recently shared the city’s plan to reopen. During a telephone news conference, he announced that local casino resorts would be allowed to reopen on June 4. However, the city will take major precautions to ensure public safety. Additionally, Sisolak pointed out that Vegas is one of the safest cities to visit right now.

“I’m confident Las Vegas is a safe place to come,” the governor said, “And visitors are going to have a great time.”

Currently, a good chunk of resorts are in the preparation process. This includes popular accommodations such as MGM Resorts, Caesars Palace, Encore at Wynn, and many more. Upon arrival, employees will take each guest’s temperature. The city requires all employees to wear a mask and highly encourages guests to comply as well.

Avid gamblers can finally get back to the casinos. However, they can expect to see many rule changes in compliance with social distancing. While nightclubs are off the table at the moment, a few attractions are working through the reopening process as well. The Fremont Street Experience, Fountains of Bellagio and The Mob Museum all plan to reopen.

While everything is a work in progress, the city is doing everything in its power to return to some sort of normalcy.

EDC Las Vegas

Unfortunately, EDC Las Vegas was one of many events that fell through due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The highly anticipated festival was scheduled to take place May 15-17.

EDC organizer Pasquale Rotella decided it was best to reschedule the festival for the fall. The new dates for the event are October 2-4. While these new dates originally looked unlikely, the reopening of the city helps to give some hope to ticket-holders.

Luckily, Rotella didn’t leave fans completely empty-handed over the third weekend of May. Instead, he hosted the EDC Las Vegas Virtual Rave-A-Thon. The lineup featured many of the originally scheduled artists and more.
