Fans hoping to experience the first-ever SCANDAL Outdoor will have to wait a little longer. The festival, which was scheduled for June 27 at Breepark Breda in the Netherlands, has officially been cancelled after authorities issued a Code Red weather warning across the country. Organizers confirmed the decision followed extensive discussions with local authorities and emergency services, with safety remaining the top priority.
Sadly, SCANDAL Outdoor wasn’t the only event affected. The same extreme heatwave also disrupted Defqon.1, where organizers were forced to cancel part of one of the world’s biggest hard dance festivals as temperatures reached dangerous levels across the Netherlands.
A Tough Start for SCANDAL Outdoor
The cancellation is especially disappointing because 2026 was set to mark the festival’s outdoor debut. SCANDAL has built a strong reputation through its indoor events, known for hard-hitting techno lineups and high-energy productions. This summer, the brand planned to take that experience outdoors for the first time. Instead, extreme weather forced organizers to postpone those plans before the gates could even open.
In a statement shared on social media, the team described the decision as heartbreaking and said they are actively exploring the possibility of rescheduling the event.
A Heavy Techno Lineup Left Waiting
The debut edition was set to feature some of the hardest names in modern techno, including Fantasm, SNTS, Kruelty, DYEN, KARAH, and Mr. Polska.
The lineup reflected SCANDAL’s commitment to harder styles, with industrial techno, hard techno, and hardcore all represented across the day. Although the festival will not go ahead this weekend, organizers have assured ticket holders that more information regarding tickets and next steps will be shared soon.
Another Festival Affected by Extreme Weather
SCANDAL Outdoor joins a growing list of European festivals disrupted by severe weather this season. As organizers continue to face increasingly unpredictable conditions, difficult decisions like these are becoming more common across the festival industry.
For now, fans can only hope the debut edition finds a new date. If it does, SCANDAL Outdoor will finally have the chance to bring its vision to life under better temperature conditions.
