D.O.D and Armand Van Helden Team Up on 'Twice As Nice'

D.O.D has pulled in one of house music’s longest-running names for his next single. The BRIT-nominated producer has joined forces with Armand Van Helden on ‘Twice As Nice,’ a piano-led house track featuring vocalist Sam Harper. The song lands October 16 via Armada Music as the final single ahead of D.O.D’s debut album, Everything, Briefly.

The pairing puts two very different points on dance music’s timeline next to each other. Van Helden’s catalog dates back to the 90s, while D.O.D has spent the last several years building out one of the more consistent runs in modern house and bass music. ‘Twice As Nice’ leans on rolling piano lines and Harper’s vocal to build toward something built squarely for peak-time sets rather than quiet listening.

Van Helden, now based in New York City, has a resume that includes UK No. 1s with ‘U Don’t Know Me’ and ‘Bonkers’ (the Dizzee Rascal collaboration), plus a No. 3 hit as one half of Duck Sauce alongside A-Trak for ‘Barbra Streisand.’ His album output — 2 Future 4 U, Killing Puritans, and Ghettoblaster among them — sits next to a remix sheet that covers Daft Punk, The Rolling Stones, Snoop Dogg, Janet Jackson, and Britney Spears. He’s still a regular on festival and club lineups worldwide, and his involvement here gives ‘Twice As Nice’ a sound that nods to house music’s past while staying planted in the present.

‘Twice As Nice’ is one of 11 tracks on Everything, Briefly, an album D.O.D describes as centered on fleeting moments that linger well after they’ve passed. Written and produced throughout 2026, the record also includes previously released singles ‘Closure,’ ‘Careful,’ and ‘Promise You,’ along with features from Nonô, Hayley May, Malarkey, Sam Harper, Izzy Bizu, and niina.

The release caps a strong stretch for D.O.D, who has racked up more than 1.5 billion streams globally and landed three Top 20 hits on the UK Official Singles Chart. He’s picked up BRIT and ARIA Award nominations along the way, charted on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Somedays’ alongside Sonny Fodera and Jazzy, and hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Airplay Chart with ‘Wrap Yourself Around Me’ featuring NORTH. He also topped Australian radio and the ARIA chart with ‘Think About Us,’ another Sonny Fodera collaboration, this one alongside Poppy Baskcomb.

Outside the studio, D.O.D has built a reputation as one of the UK’s bigger electronic exports, regularly pulling in crowds of more than 5,000 for headline shows in the US and holding a spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list. ‘Twice As Nice’ is out October 16 via Armada Music.
