Scavazza and Harry Romero are the latest signees on DIRTYBIRD’s 2020 summer season. ‘Shake Your Hearts’ marks a brief, yet welcome diversion from the label sound, with Romero on remix duties for the title track.
Scavazza opts to take a deeper, melodic approach to his first EP on the label, which comes after signing a single onto DIRTYBIRD’s 2019 Miami compilation. Lo-fi filtering minor keyed progressions create a poignant twist to its namesake track, balanced out by quirky sound effects interspersed throughout. Harry Romero goes for club ready fare in ‘Shake Your Hearts, centering his work around a throbbing bassline and bringing levity with a brand new synth progression.
“Hey” closes the EP at a high energy level, thanks to prominent drum patterns that help drive the minimal-natured composition. As a whole, ‘Shake Your Hearts’ showcases Claude VonStroke’s consistent drive to bring cutting edge new sounds into the label fold.
