Fresh from the momentum of his recent collaborations with Javi Torres and Alba Dreid on the track 'Habibi', FLAMENCA Records boss STBAN continues his prolific run with the release of his latest single, 'Yamekite'. The track, which is available now via Toolroom Records, marks another significant milestone in the label's growing discography.
For this release, STBAN has teamed up with the versatile reggaeton and Latin rap artist Billy Ronca. With a background spanning Brazil, Europe, and Puerto Rico—where he has worked alongside industry icons like Baby Rasta y Gringo—Ronca brings a unique, global perspective to the studio. His contribution to 'Yamekite' is both rhythmic and deeply personal.
"This song is about self-love and awareness,” Ronca explained. “Sometimes we’re the ones who put people on pedestals they never deserved, and when that happens, it’s up to us to bring them back down. It’s a reminder to protect your energy, choose good vibes, and not waste time on people or situations that don’t add value to your life. Life is short, everything is temporary, and we shouldn’t get stuck in negativity."
The track itself is a masterclass in atmosphere, blending sun-drenched vocal performances with STBAN’s signature production style. Gentle guitar strums weave through rolling percussion and shimmering Latin brass, building steadily into a high-energy climax. It is a soundscape clearly designed for the European summer season, perfectly suited for both sun-soaked terrace sessions and peak-time club dancefloors.
Reflecting on the track's reception, STBAN noted, “We’ve just been in Ibiza and the reaction to the track was amazing. It’s the perfect track to get the terrace session going or dial the heat up on the club dance floor. Another great addition to our FLAMENCA Records discography.”
'Yamekite' serves as a testament to the evolving sound of Latin electronica, proving that the fusion of traditional Latin rhythms and modern dance production remains a potent force in the global electronic music scene.
