TATE SEDAR Drops THIS IS POST-EDM EP

TATE SEDAR is putting it all out there with THIS IS POST-EDM, out today. The EP encompasses a genre-blurring, rule-breaking project that bridges the energy of the 2010s EDM explosion with fresh, forward-thinking production.

After racking up 500,000+ streams, securing radio play for “Our Goodbye” with Liv Kennedy, and closing out 2024 alongside R3hab at Avalon Hollywood, SEDAR needed a new creative direction. That moment arrived with post-EDM—a term he coined to describe his sound, blending the realms of the digital and analog together. Now, the EP lands as both a mission statement and a launchpad for what’s next. With each song revealing another layer to the process.

“San Francisco” sets the tone, channeling SEDAR’s Motown, hip-hop, and rock influences into a bass-driven groove that moves effortlessly between classic and contemporary.

“Emotions” (ft. P$YCHEDELIC) dials up the unpredictability, fusing house, trap, and lo-fi hip-hop into a sound that refuses to be boxed in. Featuring viral rapper P$YCHEDELIC, it’s a nod to SEDAR’s commitment to blending styles rather than following trends.

“Our Goodbye” (w/ Liv Kennedy) trades bombastic festival drops for electro-infused dance-pop, balancing emotional weight with radio-friendly hooks. It resonated beyond the underground, so to speak,  landing at #18 on Nexus Radio and earning SiriusXM BPM airplay.

“Coming Home (I.M.U)” steps into progressive-house territory, capturing the restless energy of a producer constantly on the move.

“Dream” (ft. Otto Palmborg) signs off with a cinematic, weightless drop, driven by chopped vocals and an atmosphere that feels tailor-made for closing out a set – or getting lost in thought.

For SEDAR, THIS IS POST-EDM is a pivot away from being locked into the predictable loops of festival anthems,  instead embracing contrast and experimentation. With ten of millions of streams to his name, a breakout moment on Insomniac’s Discovery Project, and support from heavyweights like R3hab, Don Diablo, and Wolfgang Gartner, TATE SEDAR has put together a work both timeless while telling a story.
