Funk Tribu is closing out October with a new single called ‘Voodoo’, out now on his own label TRIBE. The timing lines up with Halloween weekend, and the track’s darker, club-focused edge fits the occasion without straying far from the trance-rooted sound he’s built his name on.
‘Voodoo’ leans on a driving kick pattern and a topline built to stick, pairing melodic euphoria with the kind of raw energy that’s become a signature of Funk Tribu’s productions. It’s less about reinventing his formula and more about sharpening it — the track is built for peak-time sets and late-night dancefloors rather than casual listening.
The Colombia-born, Berlin-based producer has spent the past few years turning a distinctive spin on contemporary trance into a global following. His breakout records have racked up hundreds of millions of streams between them, and that momentum has carried him to stages including Tomorrowland, Awakenings, EDC and Dour. He also made a point of showing up at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event, playing four secret sets and linking up for back-to-backs with Pegassi, KI/KI and Marlon Hoffstadt.
Funk Tribu’s catalog already includes collaborations with Armin van Buuren and remix work for Boys Noize, so a return to his own imprint for ‘Voodoo’ reads as a deliberate move to keep building out TRIBE as a vehicle for his own vision rather than chasing another high-profile co-sign.
TRIBE, the label and creative collective Funk Tribu launched in 2025, has positioned itself as more than a standard release vehicle — it’s built around community and a shared visual identity as much as the music itself. Early entries like ‘Azul’ and ‘Hold On’, along with releases from Afem Syko, Linds and BK, have given the project a broader identity beyond its founder’s own discography. ‘Voodoo’ becomes the label’s latest addition and keeps that forward-leaning, emotionally driven approach intact.
